    Q.   Were there supply shortages at Gallipoli?

    A.   The Anzacs suffered shortages of just about every commodity, except small arms ammunition. At various times both food and fresh water rations were reduced due to shortages and difficulties of supply. Shortages of artillery ammunition, barbed wire and other engineering stores were constantly reported.
