COVID Alert: How your organisation can play its part in reducing community transmission.

As Australian cities are plunged back into lockdowns and health orders get updated what feels like daily, the importance of doing your part and helping our communities has never been clearer.

Let’s outline two of the most important tools organisations can use in helping to limit community transmission: Hand Sanitisers and Face Masks.

Hand Sanitiser:

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, advises that where soap and water are not available for hand washing, alcohol-based hand sanitiser containing at least 60% ethanol should be used. Ensuring that a hand sanitiser is both effective and available is an important step for businesses in helping to keep their community safe and minimising transmission.

Equipping your organisation and supporters with fantastic portable hand sanitisers is a great way to play your part in keeping your community safe.

Portable hand sanitiser helps keep people safe when they can’t use soap and water.

Face Masks:

Face masks have become part of life for many people right across Australia, particularly where community transmission numbers are highest. Communities wearing face masks is just one of many important steps implemented by governments and health organisations.

Reusable cloth face masks are a great option for those wearing masks in the community as they are washable, better for the environment than single use masks, and when produced as recommended with 3 layers of differing fabric, offer adequate filtering and droplet blocking.

Did you know? Humans love to look for faces! We look for faces everywhere. It’s how our brains are wired, so when something is covering a face, you can be sure that we notice it! Having a visual reminder to keep safe is a great way to encourage your community to do their part in reducing transmission and as a bonus they are a great reminder of your organisation and the positive role you’re playing in helping to reduce community transmission every time someone sees one of your organisations branded masks.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends sanitising your hands before and after putting on or removing a mask to help keep safe, so using both face masks and hand sanitiser together lets your community create safe routines.

Now more than ever it’s important that we all do our part to help limit community transmission. Reusable face masks and portable hand sanitiser help us do that.

Masks with 3-layer protection and adjustable nose clip are recommended by the Department of Health.
