At a motorbike Show-n-Shine you’d expect the stand-outs to be in pristine condition. But when Defence Riders Motorcycle Group got together recently to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia the crowd favourite among the 78 bikes on show was anything but pristine.

Peter Jessop’s amazing 1946 vintage Ariel VB motorcycle in ‘original’ condition won the hearts of all who saw it. Peter took out the People’s Choice Award and was presented with one of our Australia in the Great War ‘Resting on Reversed Arms’ Limited edition figurines to add to his pool room (or garage!).

The award was presented by the Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin. The Defence Riders Long Ride Show N Shine raised $1800 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The team at BrandNet was happy to support the event by donating the figurine. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men. As an age dependant disease, the risk increases with age. But with further research and awareness to promote early checks by men over 50 years the incidence can be significantly reduced. Find out more about prostate cancer at www.prostate.org.au and look after yourself.
