It’s all happening this weekend with the Scale ACT ’21 being held at the Kaleen High School (104 Baldwin Dr, Kaleen ACT 2617). Being held across the 12th and 13th of February by the ACT Scale Model Society (ACTSMS), after being postponed due to COVID-19, the display and competition are sure to be spectacular.

With a huge display of Air Force models expected, finding your favourite scale models on display has never been easier. With hopes of having as many models as possible of the 150 aircraft that have been a part of the RAAF over the past 100 years, this fantastic selection is sure to be a hit. The show and the RAAF Centenary model are supported by the Air Force 2021 team, ensuring a beautiful display and a great way to get up close to aircraft from history.

The scale model competition and exhibition is a great annual event that saw over 560 entries in 2019. With a great showing of RAAF models and much more expected this year, this fantastic event is not one to miss this weekend.

For the centenary year, the ACTSMS has introduced four new award categories to recognise this special occasion! Every entered model is eligible so a great turnout is expected. All entries must be registered online this year and no registrations can be accepted on the day.

Competition is open to all with a $2 fee per entry model, with under-18s who enter being free. With $5 adult tickets, $2 children’s and seniors’ tickets, and $10 for the whole family, this event is sure to be a hit when doors open from 10:30am - 4:40pm on Saturday to the general public! For competitors, doors open 9:30am - 11am on Saturday. If you can’t make Saturday don’t worry, doors open at 10am Sunday!

A great way to celebrate the Air Force Centenary this weekend. If you need more information, check out the ACTSMS website here.
