When it comes to making the most of the new year, it's good to start by taking inventory of the past year. What worked? What didn’t? What could you have done better? An honest self-assessment is a crucial first step in setting your intention for the new year. Next, get clear on your goals. What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months? Be specific, and be sure to write them down. Research shows that we’re more likely to achieve our goals if we commit them to paper. Finally, make a plan. How are you going to achieve your goals? What steps do you need to take? What resources do you need? Answering these questions will help you develop a roadmap for success.

When you have this plan in place, there are key habits that one need to have to help you achieve your goals. Here are our top three:

    Strategy

    2. Practice gratitude. Gratitude is the quality of being thankful and showing appreciation. It is a mindful acknowledgment of all that we have been given. When we practice gratitude, we are present in the moment and open to receiving the good around us. This attitude of gratitude creates a ripple effect of positivity. It not only benefits us, but also those around us. When we are grateful, we are happier and more likely to be kind, helpful, and forgiving. Gratitude is the foundation of a good life. It is the cornerstone of happiness, relationships, and health.
